Each year our therapists at Imagine enjoy seeing and treating many young athletes. Most of our therapists participated in sports growing up, and therefore have a special camaraderie with our young patients. As young athletes are pushed harder and harder to play sports year round, and as pressure has mounted on young people to “be tougher”, “play faster” and ”get stronger”, we have seen the impact walking (or limping!) through our doors. Imagine Physical Therapy recently became an official collaborating organization in the STOP Sports Injuries campaign. STOP
(Sports Trauma and Overuse Prevention) is a comprehensive public outreach program that focuses on the importance of sports safety for youth, specifically relating to overuse and trauma injuries. In future blog posts, we look forward to sharing with you how you can keep the young athletes in your life healthy and looking forward to long and injury free careers. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we are always open to specific topics you would like to hear about. What are your concerns for the young athlete in your life? Please feel free to leave any requests in the Comments section below, or email one of our clinics! Imagine Physical Therapy has locations in Mount Pleasant, Charleston / West Ashley and on Daniel Island. Our mission is to provide a physical therapy experience that is immeasurably better than could be asked or imagined.
